Paintings guided by vibration
Thames artist Yvette Stables has decided to have her first solo exhibition of her intuitive art at the Carlton Gallery in Katikati.
“I don’t think about what I am painting, I just put some music on and the vibration of the music actually goes into the paintings and the colours.”
Most artists have titled work but Yvette said she doesn’t.
“It’s for you — the viewer, to see what’s in there and you title it.
“It’s for the person and what they can see in my paintings. Everybody sees differently.”
On December 16, 2016 Yvette asked, “what now?” She was told to paint and that’s how it started.
“I thought… I could do that, I’ve got some paint and brushes that I’ve collected over the years.”
More than 300 paintings later, and the flow is still going.
In this unique exhibition the paintings are all oil on canvas in a range of sizes, with some bigger pieces for those who are looking for larger one-off works. All of the unique, colourful paintings are for sale.
Yvette said, “This is it — so come and enjoy for yourselves.”
There will also be small gift cards for sale featuring Yvette’s inspiring works.
