New Zealand As I See It
This Exhibition shows the landscapes, seascapes, flowers and the wonderful personable native birds of New Zealand.
Watercolour has been my passion for many years and I have been successful with national, regional and local awards. What I love about this challenging medium is its transparency and the play with water, pigment, brush and paper, always unique, never repeatable.
In 2002 I left the French Alps and arrived in New Zealand. It was so exciting to be in a totally new country with landscapes and birds that I have never seen, I just had to paint!
In 2006 I became a Kiwi and feel very lucky to live this life.
Travelling with my husband Peter in both Islands gave me the opportunity to discover how beautiful New Zealand is. This prompted the desire to start a travel diary, which actually became a booklet “French Cooking in New Zealand”, published in 2008.
In 2012 I started and led the Thames Parawai Watercolour group for several years.
Later I have been involved in the Thames Society of Arts Gallery as curator, committee member and continue volunteering at the desk. My paintings can be seen at The Thames Society of Arts and at my studio/gallery nearby where tuition can be given.
